With Spain's Anti-Fraud Law and the VeriFactu regulation, the software you use to issue receipts and invoices must guarantee that every record is complete, traceable and unalterable. An old POS or outdated software may stop being valid.

Your questions answered
Is a receipt an invoice?
Yes: in Spain a receipt (ticket) is a simplified invoice. It is valid for sales to consumers and, if the customer needs it, it can be exchanged for a full invoice with their tax details.
Do TPV Online receipts include the VeriFactu QR code?
Yes. Every receipt and invoice includes the tax QR code and the corresponding legend, so the customer can verify it on the Spanish Tax Agency (AEAT) website.
Can I email the receipt instead of printing it?
Yes. You can send the receipt or invoice as a PDF to the customer's email, or print it on your usual thermal printer.
